Recreation
Our city is diverse, not only is The Hague a great place to study, it’s a buzzing business city with a political and diplomatic heart.
The beach
The beach of Scheveningen is full of adventure. The Zuiderstrand (southern beach) has a lot to offer in terms of relaxation and soaking up the sun. On the other hand, the Noorderstrand (northern beach) has trendy beach pavilions where kite surfing is popular.
Bars and pubs
The Hague boasts a wide variety of bars and pubs mainly in the city centre or along the Scheveningen waterfront. International students often hang out at Siezo and Xieje (next to the University) and The Fiddler, The Buddha Bar or Havana (in the city centre). Or try one of the many bars in the or on Plein such as Danzig in de Tropen. Most pubs call last orders at around 2 a.m.
Most clubs are around the city centre. Most fill up after midnight, and many offer student nights (every Thursday, entry to Havana is free with a student ID card). Or go to the students associatons on thursdaynight.
