KABK student art exhibition

You are cordially invited to the annual student art exhibition presented by the fine arts department of The Hague's Royal Academy of Art (KABK). This year’s exhibition is entitled ‘VRIJDAGDEDERTIENDE TWEEDUIZENDTWAALF’ (Friday the 13th 2012).

This extensive exhibition featuring the works of 24 young artists will be held 14 to 17 January 2012 at De Regentenkamer, a former Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The exhibition, curated by Jonas Ohlsson, will include a special programme of speakers and music performances. In the meantime, take a sneak peek at some of the works made by this new generation of artists on the threshold of their careers.

The works of the art academy students have been divided into four sections: autonomous art, 3-D art, graphic design and fine art. This guarantees an exhibition with completely diverse submissions, from paintings, drawings, sculptures and graphic works to art installations, performances and video art.

Special programme
The special programme this year is the theme of independence for the younger generation of artists. The lectures will focus on looking for a positive answer to the question: How can I as an independent artist survive in this tight financial period? Professionals from the art world and young artists will think and talk about this question based on their experience and background.
